K. Sudhakaran, Congress MP, has said that a decision on Congress leader K. Muraleedharan’s demand for an investigation into what has been known as the ISRO spy case should be taken after considering whether it will affect the interests of the party and the ruling United Democratic Front (UDF).

To a question on his stand on Mr. Muraleedharan’s demand for action against three police officers who had investigated the infamous ISRO espionage case which culminated in the removal of his late father K. Karunakaran as Chief Minister, the MP said at a press conference here on Tuesday that he could understand Mr. Muraleedharan’s demand for action in a bid to prove the innocence of his father. The MP, however, said that any decision on the demand should be taken after examining whether the decision would be beneficial to the party and the coalition. He, however, said the party owed a response to Mr. Muraleedharan’s demand.

Asked about Union Minister for Overseas Affairs Vayalar Ravi’s support for Mr. Muraleedharan’s demand, Mr. Sudhakaran, earlier known to be close to the senior party leader, said he had no godfather in politics, suggesting that he was not a camp follower of any leader in the party.
