Students injured in road accident

Four schoolchildren and the driver of an autorickshaw in which they were travelling sustained serious injuries when a speeding car hit the autorickshaw. The accident occurred at Kazhchaparamba near Kannadi here around 2.30 p.m. on Monday.

The condition of the students, Vaishnavi, Amal, Christopher, and Kishore, and the driver Sidharth was stated to be serious.

The students were returning after their annual examination. The vehicle was destroyed in the accident.

Eyewitnesses said the car had overtaken another vehicle. Sidharth, Vaishnavi, and Amal were shifted to a hospital in Thrissur after being provided first aid at a hospital in Kannadi.
