A six-day camp for school students on cyber security organised by Amrita University’s Centre for Cyber Security on the university campus concluded on Wednesday.
The camp was conducted to channel young minds to respond to the nation’s growing demand for highly trained cyber security professionals equipped with skill sets to deal with all forms of cyber threats.
The participants were selected on merit basis through a State-wide entrance examination.
Through the camp they were encouraged to explore the world of cyber security and become a part of a movement towards a safer cyber world.
The students were given fundamental training in leading cryptographic techniques in Linux, Python, Raspberry Pi, Lamp, Network Forensics and Web goat. Std XI students, Devavruthan of Government Higher Secondary School, Edapally, Ernakulam and Arjun S. Dev of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Thiruvananthapuram, topped the final test of the camp and were presented with a Raspberry Pi development kit.
Ashok Nair from Exxon Mobile delivered the keynote address at the valedictory function.
