Leader of the Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan on Saturday protested against the alleged harassment of Gulf passengers by Air India.

In a statement, Mr. Achuthanandan said the incident at the Thiruvananthapuram international airport on Friday when passengers were stranded for hours on board a flight, was the latest instance of alleged harassment. He demanded that the cases registered against passengers on charges of ‘hijacking’ the aircraft be withdrawn.

He said the State and the Centre were conspiring to prevent the implementation of the Kochi Metro Rail project under E. Sreedharan, former Managing of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.
