Segregated bus bays are seldomused by KSRTC drivers

While developing a 42-km stretch in the capital under the City Road Improvement Project, many unique features were included for the hassle-free movement of road users and vehicles. Segregated bus bay was one a key feature introduced in the corridors to ensure that carriageway remains free when the KSRTC buses and the private stage carriers stop at the designated bus stops. But, these segregated bus bays are remaining unutilised.

In Vellayambalam and Ayurveda College junction, the traffic police ensure that the buses enter the bay. Once they leaves, the drivers compete with one another to park the stage carriers haphazardly.

At RR Lamp junction where the private buses and city and long distance buses of the KSRTC halt, the efforts of the police to ensure the stage carriers stop at the segregated bus bays has not been successful.
