Southern Railway will run special trains between Vasco da Gama in Goa and Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu in connection with the Velankanni festival.
A press release by the Palakkad railway division here on Tuesday said the trains would run via Mangalore junction, Palakkad, Erode and Tiruchirappalli.
Train no. 0675 will leave Vasco at 7.45 p.m. on August 23 and 30 and September 6, 13 and 20 (Mondays) and arrive at Nagapattinam at 8.05 p.m. the next morning.
Train no. 0676 will leave Nagapattinam at 10 p.m. on August 24 and 31 and September 7, 14 and 21 (Tuesdays) and arrive at Vasco at 8.30 p.m. the next evening.
The trains will have nine sleeper-class and six general second-class coaches, including one with a portion reserved for the physically challenged, and one each air-conditioned two- and three-tier coaches and a luggage-cum-brake van.
The trains will stop at Madgaon, Canacona, Karwar, Kumta, Bhatkal, Kundapur, Udupi, Surathkal, Mangalore junction, Kasaragod, Payyannur, Kannur, Thalassery, Vadakara, Kozhikode, Tirur, Shoranur, Palakkad, Podanur, Tirupur, Erode, Karur, Tiruchirappalli, Thanjavur and Tiruvarur.
Reservation of berths on the trains started on Tuesday, the release said.
