Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday tasked a special team with probing the suspected honour killing of Kevin P. Joseph. His office said IG, Ernakulam Range, Vijay Sakhare would head the four task forces. The police have at least one suspect in their custody. They have assigned two Crime Branch teams.

The National Commission for Minorities has sought a report from the State Police Chief and the District Collector. The commission said it considered the crime a “case of honour killing hitherto unknown in Kerala”.
