Special cell to check attack on pilgrims

Police have opened a special cell at the police outpost at Vadasserikkara on the Mannarakulanji-Pampa main trunk route leading to Sabarimala to attend complaints of pilgrims coming from outside Kerala and to assist them as and when needed.

The Deputy Superintendent of Police, K.N.Rajeev, said the Police have taken extra care to prevent any possible attack or harassment of Sabarimala pilgrims, especially those coming from the neighbouring States of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

Pilgrims are free to seek police assistance as and when needed by making a call to the special cell at Vadasserikkara , Tel. 04735-251900, 09497990035, Mr Rajiv said.
