Southern Naval Command Dispatches Medical Team to Sabarimala

The Southern Naval Command on Saturday dispatched an emergency medical team to the accident site at Sabarimala, where more than 100 devotees were killed in a stampede on Friday night.

The Navy Seaking helicopter flying to the site with the medical team also carries emergency medical supplies.

Earlier, another helicopter, an Advanced Light Helicopter Dhruv, was launched at first light on Saturday to Kannur in north Kerala to ferry Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan from there to the accident site to enable him to personally supervise the relief operations.
