Taking objection to Leader of the Opposition V. S. Achuthanandan’s plea for a CBI probe into the solar scam cases, the State government on Wednesday informed a Division Bench of the Kerala High Court that no legal or tangible evidence could be unearthed against any persons except the persons presently arraigned as accused in the cases.

In a statement, the State government said the investigation in all the 33 cases launched across the State had been completed successfully and charge sheets filed.

The petitioner, who was a total stranger to the proceedings, could not at this stage contend for further investigation by a different agency after the filing of the charge sheet. None of the reasons pointed out by the petitioner were relevant or sufficient to issue a directive for handing over the investigation by the CBI, the statement said.
