The regular arts and medicine programme of the Kochi Biennale Foundation took on a different colour, that of khaki, on Wednesday.

S. Sasikumar, rural police chief in Kollam, arrived at the General Hospital in uniform and belted out some choosy yesteryear Malayalam songs, much to the delight of the hospital inmates.

It was the 98th edition of the weekly event and the officer, a superintendent of police, began the concert with ‘Krishna Nee Begane…’ He also sang the vintage hits ‘Innumente Kannuneeril’ from the 1986-film Yuvajanolsavam and ‘Anuragini Itha En’ from Oru Kudakeezhil (1985).

Popular singers Rajiv R. Nair and Sreerenjini Manoj also performed at the event organised by KBF in association with Lakeshore Hospital and Research Centre Limited and Mehboob Memorial Orchestra.
