The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) has asked the nurses working in private hospitals in Thrissur district to stop their on-going strike in view of the grave epidemic situation in the State.
The strike proposed to be held in other districts from June 27 should also be dropped, the SHRC said.
The government should immediately hold discussions over the issues raised by the nurses and settle them. The Chief Secretary and the Health and Labour Secretaries and the United Nurses Association, which was leading the strike, should report to the commission, the steps being taken to resolve the strike, the SHRC said.
