Sharma sworn in as Kerala pro tem Speaker

Senior CPI(M) legislator, S. Sharma was sworn in as the Pro-tem Speaker of Kerala Assembly.

At a simple function held at Raj Bhavan on Friday, Governor Justice (Retd.) P. Sathasivam administered the oath of affirmation to Mr.Sharma. Minister for Industries and Sports, E. P. Jayarajan and Minister for Ports, Ramachandran Kadanapally were present at the function. This is the sixth time that the 62 -year-old is being elected to Assembly.

Mr. Sharma, elected from Vypeen assembly segment in Ernakulam, will in turn administer the oath to the other 139 legislators elected to the Assembly next week and conduct elections to the post of Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
