June 18, 2013 11:46 am | Updated November 16, 2021 08:40 pm IST - KOTTAYAM:

Actor Shalu Menon has denied any wrongdoing in the so-called solar scam as is being alleged by certain quarters.

Speaking to mediapersons at her residence in Changanassery on Monday, Ms. Menon said she had no role in the business of the prime accused in the case, Biju Radhakrishnan.

‘‘I was unaware of Biju’s criminal background. I had paid Rs.20 lakh for setting up a solar panel for my new house and dance school at Thiruvalla. However, it was only later I realised that I was duped,’’ she said.

Defamation case

Ms. Menon said she would file a defamation case against media establishments that had published ‘baseless’ reports that maligned her reputation.
