Satisfied with police inquiry: NHRC

National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) acting chairperson Cyriac Joseph has said the police inquiry into the suicide attempt by trainees of the Sports Authority of India (SAI) is headed in the right direction.

Mr. Joseph told presspersons here on Friday evening that he was satisfied with the progress of the investigation, and had directed the investigating team to complete the probe at the earliest. He also directed the SAI and the Sports Secretary to submit their reports on the issue. Earlier, Mr. Joseph and NHRC Deputy Superintendent I.R. Koorilose recorded the statements of several persons in connection with the incident. — Staff Reporter
