Sasheendran's family welcomes order for CBI probe

February 17, 2011 08:23 pm | Updated 08:23 pm IST - PALAKKAD:

The family members of V. Sasheendran, former company secretary of Malabar Cements Ltd. (MCL), welcomed the Kerala High Court directive on Thursday for an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the mysterious death of him and his two sons on January 24.

B. Teena, Sasheendran's wife, told The Hindu here that she welcomed the directive. But she wanted a CBI investigation into the scams in the company also.

“Sasheendran was murdered as he had questioned the blatant corruption that was going on in the MCL. In future, no other family should face a tragedy as mine had faced. So all the corruption cases related to the MCL should also be inquired into by the CBI,” Ms. Teena said.

She said the court directive was expected, as the State government had supported the demand for a CBI investigation.

A Collectorate march planned by an action committee demanding a CBI inquiry into corruption in the MCL will be inaugurated by the Congress leader V.M. Sudheeran on Saturday.

Action committee chairman P.C. George, MLA, and others will speak.
