Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has said that proceedings for revision of salary for Government employees, including police personnel, will be completed this year.

He was addressing the passing-out parade of 1,223 recruit police constables at the Kerala Police Academy in Ramavarmapuram here on Thursday.

He said that a women police battalion will be constituted soon in the State.

“Police stations will be made women-friendly. In the first phase, all Circle Offices will be made women-friendly.”

He said the Kerala police had implemented many schemes for the welfare of police personnel.

“As many as 15,800 cell phones have been given to police personnel.

An amount of Rs. 110 is being given every month for call charges. No other State has done this,” he claimed.
