Saji Cherian is CPI(M) district secretary

Saji Cherian has been unanimously re-elected Alappuzha district secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). The election took place on Monday during the district conference of the party that concluded at Kayamkulam.

Speaking to media persons, Mr. Cherian said a 45-member district committee, including nine new faces, was elected unanimously by the delegates of the conference. The new faces include MLAs R. Rajesh and A.M. Ariff and five women. A 38-member delegation has been selected to attend the State meet in Thrissur next month.
