Chandy to commission drinking water project

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will convene a high-level meeting at Pampa at 10.30 a.m. on Thursday to review the arrangements being made by various government departments as well as the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) for the smooth conduct of the annual Mandalam-Makaravilakku pilgrim season at Sabarimala Ayyappa temple that begins on November 16.

V.S. Sivakumar, Minister for Devaswom and Health, will preside over the meeting. P.J. Kurien, Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha; P.J. Joseph, Water Resources Minister; Adoor Prakash, Revenue Minister; Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, Home Minister; M.P. Govindan Nair, TDB president; Subhash Vasu and P.K. Kumaran, board members; N. Velayudhan Nair, Ayyappa Seva Sanghom general secretary; D. Vijayakumar, sanghom national vice-president; government secretaries; and heads of various departments will address the meeting.

Mr. Chandy will also commission the Pampa-Sannidhanam drinking water augmentation project of the Kerala Water Authority at a function to be held at Pampa at 10 am.
