Sabarimala became the location for a Malayalam movie after a long gap on Tuesday.
The Vishu day at the Sannidhanam turned out to be a celebrity day with the angry young man of the Malayalam filmdom, Prithviraj, along with a movie crew, reached there in the wee hours of Tuesday.
Prithviraj, film producer Renjith, director Dileesh, and other crew members reached Sabarimala by 12.45 a.m. He offered prayers at the Ayyappa temple and other associated temples in the morning.
Temple chief priest P.N. Narayanan Namboodiri performed the Puja followed by the switch-on event of the movie at a function held on the Ayyappa temple premises. P. Venugopal, Devaswom Commissioner, and P. Mohandas, Devaswom executive officer, were present.
The shooting was held near the temple dedicated to Vavar — Vavarnada — at the Lower Tirumuttom.
Prithviraj will don the role of an Assistant Police Commissioner on special duty at Sabarimala. However, the movie produced under the banner of Rajaputra films is yet to be named, according to the producer. Only one scene was shot at Sabarimala and the shooting for the rest of the movie would continue at various other parts of the State, the director said.
