A Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) activist who was an accused in the murder of an Islamic convert at Kodinhi near Tirurangadi was found dead on the roadside at Tirur on Thursday.

Bipin(30), who was a key member of a gang that waylaid and hacked Faizal P. (32) on November 19 last year , was reportedly attacked by a gang while he was going for work on Thursday morning. Bipin’s body was found on the roadside at Pulinchode, Tirur, at 7 a.m. with multiple wounds.

Faizal’s body too was found on the roadside at Farook Nagar, Kodinhi. He was apparently murdered for embracing Islam. Following his murder, his mother and sisters too embraced Islam.

A police team is camping at the site. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called for a half-day hartal in Tirur taluk to protest against the murder. Police said they had begun an investigation into the murder.
