Infrastructure development projects worth Rs.35 crore will be completed at Sabarimala ahead of the pilgrim season this year, chairman of the high-power committee for implementation of the Sabarimala Master Plan K. Jayakumar has said.

Talking to the media after a meeting of the committee at the Ernakulam Government Guest House on Wednesday, Mr. Jayakumar said the work to be completed soon included a modern sewage treatment plant to be established at a cost of Rs.23 crore.

“The committee assessed that the Rs.23-crore sewage treatment plant could be commissioned before November 16, when the Mandalapuja season begins. The plant having a capacity of over 5 MLD is vital for preventing the pollution of the Pampa,’’ he said.
