RPF outpost at Kanhangad station soon: DRM

July 15, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:57 am IST - KANHANGAD:

In the wake of increasing incidents involving antisocial elements in and around the railway station here, the Railways have agreed in principle to set up a Railway Protection Force (RPF) outpost at the station.

An assurance to this effect was made by Palakkad Divisional Railway Manager Naresh Lalvani during his brief visit here on Thursday.

The DRM was impressed upon the need to set up the outpost by a team led by Kanhangad railway passengers association president T. Muhammed Aslam.

In a memorandum, Mr. Aslam said that antisocials were found frequenting the platform under the influence of liquor.
