Rise in revenue collection at Sabarimala

Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) president Prayar Gopalakrishnan has said the revenue collection at Sabarimala has witnessed an increase of Rs.2.71crore in the first nine days of the annual pilgrim season, compared to the collection during the same period last year.

He was inaugurating the website, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter accounts of the Ayyappa temple at a function held at Sabarimala on Thursday.

According to him, the total revenue collection as on the first nine days of the pilgrimage season was Rs.22.66 crore against Rs.19.95 crore during the same period in 2015. He said the Aravana sales had gone up from Rs.6.5 crore to Rs.8.8 and the Hundi collection was Rs.8.3 crore against the Rs.7.2 crore during the previous pilgrim season.
