Resentment over non-allocation of funds for MCH

July 11, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - KASARAGOD

: The Kasaragod Medical College Samara Samithi has termed the non-allocation of funds in the State budget for the medical college hospital “a challenge to endosulfan victims” and a pointer to the lackadaisical attitude towards the district’s development.

Mahin Kelot, samithi chairman, said the tendering process of work on the hospital had been stalled owing to the 19.50 per cent cost escalation projected in the revised estimate. Work on the Rs. 25-crore academic block of the hospital in Badiadukka village is progressing.

The Samithi will submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister, Health Minister and Revenue Minister on July 18 calling for expediting work on the hospital project in a time-bound manner so as to provide expert medical care to endosulfan victims.
