Report on assets of medical colleges in 3 months

The Cabinet decided to assess the assets and liabilities of the cooperative medical colleges at Pariyaram and Kochi on Wednesday as a prelude to their possible takeover by the government.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy told the media after a Cabinet meeting that the District Collectors would be asked to submit reports in three months.

A final decision on government takeover would be taken after that.

The Chief Minister said the Cabinet had approved proposals for pay revision in the Bakel Resorts Development Corporation.

As many as 99 posts would be created additionally in the mental hospitals in Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, and Thrissur in view of staff shortages.

Mr. Chandy said that about 40 acres at Chakkittapara near Koyilandy would be allocated for building a headquarters for CRPF battalion.
