Remand extended for Rajesh Puthenpalam and Om Prakash of the Muthhot murder case.

Ramankary Judicial First Class Magistrate Subitha Chirakkal on Friday extended the remand period of Om Prakash and Rajesh, the 15th and 16th accused respectively in the Paul Muthoot George murder case, to October 29.

The remand period, which came to an end on Friday, was extended after the police produced the duo in the court this morning. Meanwhile, B.P. Kumaran, father of Prakash, filed a petition in the court requesting release on bail a few items, including a car and passport, of Prakash, which were seized by the police during a raid on a flat owned by Prakash in Pune. Hearing on the petition was posted to October 29.

Assistant Public Prosecutor Manoj K. John appeared for the prosecution while Priyadarshan Thampi was the counsel for the accused.

According to official sources, results of the polygraph test conducted on Prakash and Rajesh at the Thiruvananthapuram Forensic Science Laboratory earlier this week would be available soon. The duo would also be taken to the Ahmedabad Forensic Science Laboratory later this month for a narco-analysis test, the sources added.
