Kummanam Rajashekharan, Hindu Aikyavedi general secretary, has said that religious differentiation is the real threat to religious harmony and secularism.
He was addressing a session at the 100th annual Hindu religious meet, organised by the Hidumatha Maha Mandalam, on the sand bed of river Pampa at Cherukolpuzha, near Kozhencherry, on Tuesday.
Mr. Rajashekharan said assessment of various social, cultural and political matters on the basis of religion was due to degeneration of values and dharma, posing threat to the country's unity and integrity.
Earlier, delivering a discourse on Srimad Bhagavatham, religious scholar Prema Panduranga said Bhagavatham was a spiritual treatise that encapsulated the philosophy of life and the universe in the form of a vast collection of stories.
According to her, the ‘Raasa-leela' dance in the Srimad Bhagavatham symbolises the soul's unceasing struggle to break clear of the constraints of the body.
