Against urinating in public places
Is there any law against urinating in public places? Well, even if there is one, it is surely flouted with impunity. The health inspectors in Kozhikode Corporation should carry out stringent and effective drives against such ‘dirty’ acts and bring the offenders to book.
There is also a need to create wide awareness among the public that it is a punishable offence.
Such efforts will help take India to the next level of ‘Swach Bharat’.

Redesign roundabout
The roundabout and traffic signal at the Vengeri bypass junction on the Ramanattukara-Vengali National Highway stretch are designed in an unscientific manner.
They pose a risk of accidents to motorists.
The bypass junction is the point where six roads converge.
The narrow Kozhikode-Balussery road has poor visibility, while the narrow mouth of the road leading to Kannadikal is blocked by vehicles, autostand, and shops on both sides.
Besides, free left drive is often restricted here.
I, therefore, request the authorities concerned to
take necessary action to redesign the roundabout
and the traffic signal.

Bad road
Prior to the National Games, Mavoor Road, which was in a moderately good condition, was re-tarred from the Bank Road junction to Thondayad.
But the stretch from Thondayad to Medical College, where some events were held, was ignored during the makeover of the road during the National Games.
This stretch should have been included in the repair works.
The condition of the road remains pathetic even after several spells of patchwork on it.
One wonders what is the basis on which roads are chosen for repair works. I just hope this plea is properly heeded.
