Ravi Varma art gallery to be rebuilt

December 30, 2010 03:08 pm | Updated October 17, 2016 11:00 pm IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

Director of Museums and Zoos K. Udayavarman has said that the State government was planning to construct a new Ravi Varma art gallery inside the State Museum compound.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, he said the one lakh square feet art gallery would have modern facilities and equipment for scientific preservation of paintings.

“We might seek the technical support of national institutes like National Museum Institute, New Delhi, and National Research Laboratory for Conservation of Cultural Property, Lucknow, for setting up the gallery. However, discussions on the project are currently at the nascent stage,'' he said.
