Rabid dog attacks 11 persons

Eleven people suffered injuries in an attack by a rabid dog at Kodungallur on Saturday. Of the injured, six men and three women were admitted to a private hospital at Kalamassery and two children were admitted to Kozhikode Medical College. The victims were sent to Kalamassery and Kozhikode as the hospitals in the district did not have enough medicines. The dog created panic at Madavana, Orukadavu of Thiruvallur and Eriyad panchayats. The local people killed the dog. Meanwhile, people protested against the unavailability of sufficient medicines in the hospitals in the district.
