MGU honour for ISRO ex-chief

K. Radhakrishnan, Former Chairman of ISRO, will be conferred with honoris causa DSc by Mahatma Gandhi University on Tuesday. Governor and Chancellor of the University P. Sathasivam will officiate the ceremonial function.Dr. Radhakrishnan is the 11th person to be honoured with honoris causa by MGU. Others include Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai, M.T. Vasudevan Nair, Adoor Gopalakrishnan, K.J. Yesudas, K.G. Balakrishnan, P.K.R. Warrier, C.N.R. Rao, N. Ram, A. Ramachandran, and V Dakshinamurthy.According to a press note, the ceremony will commence by 11.30 am. Education Minister and Pro Chancellor P.K. Abdu Rabb will deliver the special address on the occasion.The ceremonial academic procession, led by the Chancellor will consist of the Education Minister; Vice Chancellor Babu Sebastian; Pro Vice Chancellor Sheena Shukkur; registrar-in-charge Sabu Thomas, members of the syndicate and the Senate, and deans of faculty. The procession will commence from the Students’ Amenities Centre and conclude at the university assembly hall. The procession will be accompanied by music by Naval Band.
