Protest against Joice George at Muvattupuzha

Tension prevailed at Muvattupuzha town on Tuesday after a group of Youth Congress workers waved black flags at Idukki MP Joice George in protest against the alleged assault bid on Forest Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan. The police said the incident took place around 11 a.m. when the protesters waylaid the MP, who arrived to attend a programme organised by the Muvattupuzha municipality.

During the protest, which took place amid tight police security, a Youth Congress worker threw a rotten egg at the MP’s car. This led to a squabble between the protesters and LDF workers.
