Protest against fuel price hike: VS

Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan on Wednesday called for wider protests against the hike in petroleum prices.

Talking to the media after a Cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister said the people, their representatives and political parties should mobilise the protest. Mr. Achuthanandan noted that petrol prices had been hiked four times during the past two months. The total increase was Rs. 6 a litre. There was also a move to lift the price control on diesel and increase its price, he said.
