The Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) is embarking on an exercise to constitute a delegation representing the State at the National Children’s Science Congress to be held at the Benares Hindu University (BHU) from December 27 to 31. A work experience mela for students is being organised at the Sastra Bhavan here on September 20 as a precursor to the Kerala Children’s Science Congress, the event that will identify the members to the delegation.

The theme of this year’s Kerala Children’s Science Congress is ‘Energy: Exploration, Consumption and Conservation.’ Projects on the topic have been invited from children for a competition to be held at the district-level and later at the State-level. The best projects will be selected for the National Children’s Science Congress.

Competition will be held in two categories—for children in the 10-14 age group and 14-17 age group. A press note by KSCSTE said a committee chaired by Prof. Aravindakshan had been set up for the conduct of the Kerala Children’s Science Congress.
