10,000 professional students expected for three-day meet
The 17th national conference of professional students conducted by the Mujahid Students Movement (MSM) will begin here on Friday. A huge pandal is being erected at MSP School Grounds to host 10,000 professional students from across the country for the three-day meet.
The conference titled ‘Profcon’ will discuss matters concerning religious, moral, scientific, educational, social, and cultural spheres of professional students, the organisers said here on Tuesday. There will be 30 sessions in Malayalam, English, Urdu, and Arabic, to be held in three stages. Students from medical, engineering, technical, paramedical, management, and law institutes from across the country will attend. The meet will lay emphasis on such topics as education, morality, social awakening, nation building, campus peace, safety of girls, and abuse of Internet and electronic gadgets.
Shaikh Arshad Mohammed Ilyas, Islamic scholar and head of Heritage Village in Dubai’s Tourism Department, will inaugurate the conference on Friday afternoon. MSM State president K. Mohammed Shaheer will preside.
Canadian journalist Gabriel Keresztes will deliver the keynote address at a social debate on ‘Religion is refuge’ on Friday evening.
Minister for Industries P.K. Kunhalikutty will inaugurate an ideology session on Saturday morning. Sheikh Arshad Mohammed Ilyas from the UAE will inaugurate a session on ‘Through the right path.’
Minister for Transport and Power Aryadan Mohammed will inaugurate a session on ‘Evidence-based path.’ Minister for Urban Development Manjalamkuzhi Ali will inaugurate a session on ‘Choosing faith’ in the afternoon.
Minister for Tourism A.P. Anil Kumar will be the chief guest at a seminar on environment to be held on Sunday morning. Minister for Education P.K. Abdu Rabb will inaugurate the valedictory session in the afternoon.
