Pre-paid auto services

A new traffic unit and pre-paid autorickshaw service from Kanhangad railway station would commence from May 1. The pre-paid auto service would begin close to the police aid post at the railway station, Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala said, inaugurating a coastal police control room here on Friday. As part of easing road traffic congestion, the town would soon be brought under the traffic signalling system, the gadgets for which would be procured from Keltron, Mr. Chennithala said. The Kanhangad fire station would be equipped with one more fire engine unit, he said E. Chandrashekharan, MLA, was also present at the function. —Staff Reporter
