Prayers mark Id-ul-Fitr in Pathanamthitta

Id-ul-Fitr was celebrated with religious fervour in Pathanamthitta on Sunday, the first day of the Shawwal (the tenth month of the lunar Islamic calendar), marking the end of the fasting month of Ramzan. Special prayers were held at various mosques in the district.

Hundreds of Muslims congregated at the district stadium here for the Idgah organised by the Kerala Nadavathul Mujahideen in the morning.

The Namaz held at Pathanamthitta Town Juma Masjid at 8.30 a.m. was led by T.K. Mujeeb Rahman Maulavi.

Special prayers were held at the Juma Masjids at Chunkappara, Vaipur, Pandalam, Adoor, Konni, Kummannoor, Ezhamkulam, Pazhakulam, Kottangal, Niranom, Kattoor, Muthoor, and Thiruvalla. Hundreds of Muslims offered Namaz at Thrikkomala Nurul Huda Juma Masjid, Pezhumpara Juma Masjid, Naranganam Alumkal Juma Masjid, Vechoochira Juma Masjid, Punnavely Juma Masjid, Enath Town Jumas Masjid, and at the Mannady Juma Masjid on the day.
