Poornamritananda Puri to inaugurate Cherukolpuzha Hindu meet

Swami Amritaswaroopananda Puri, general secretary of Mata Amrithanandamayi Madhom will inaugurate the 101st Hindu religious meet, Ayroor-Cherukolpuzha Hindumatha Parishad, at its traditional venue on the sandbed of river Pampa at Cherukolpuzha near Kozhencherry.

Addressing a prèss conference here on Wednesday, T.N.Upendranatha Kurup, president of Hindumatha Maha Mandalam, said the week-long religious meet will held from February 3 to February 10.

Meetings of different wings -- cultural, Vivekananda Jayanti, Ayyappa devotees and women devotee would be held. Vice-chancellor of the Kerala Kala Mandalam Deemed University, P.N.Suresh, Devaswom Minister, V.S.Sivakumar, Revenue Minister, Adoor Prakash, Dr M.Lakshmikumari, president of Vivekananda Madhom would inaugurate the respective events.

Valedictory meet

Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation, K.C.Venugopal, will inaugurate the valedictory meet at 3 pm. T.K.A.Nair, advisor to Prime Minister, will preside over the function.

The week-long annual religious event will come to a close with the Maha Sarvaiswaryapuja led by the Swami Amritageetananda Puri of the Mata Amritanandamayi Ashram in Bangalore, later, in the evening.

Hundreds of devotees will take part in the Mahasarvaiswaryapuja to be held on the sandbed Pampa, Mr. Kurup said.
