The arrangements for the elections to the 14th Legislative Assembly entered its last leg with the completion of the distribution of polling materials to polling officials. The distribution commenced by 10 a.m. on Sunday at nine centres, one for each of the nine constituencies.

The candidates, meanwhile, spent the day visiting houses, participating in marriages and funerals, holding closed-door talks with party activists, and making last minute attempts to close the gaps.

On Monday, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will exercise his right to franchise at the polling station at Georgian School, Puthuppally, by 9 a.m. while his LDF opponent Jaick C. Thomas will vote at Government LP School, Kaniamkunnu. K.M. Mani will cast his vote at St. Thomas School, Pala.
