Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said that there existed no ‘political circumstance’ that required Minister Ganesh Kumar to step down.

The comment comes in the wake of speculation that Mr. Kumar would resign from the State Cabinet following his reported removal from the vice-chairmanship of Kerala Congress (B).

Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of a function on Saturday, Mr. Chandy said that discussions would be held to arrive at solutions for any issue that existed within any of the constituent parties of the United Democratic Front (UDF).

He added that he is unable to divulge everything that he was aware of the issue.
