Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said here on Wednesday that none would be allowed to foment trouble in the State in connection with the verdict in the Ayodhya case, slated to be delivered Thursday afternoon.
The whole of police would be mobilised for three days to maintain peace. The Director General of Police had been instructed to take strong action against anyone trying to create law and order problems, the Minister told the media after a high level meeting of officials of Home Department and Police.
Mr. Balakrishnan said that the district superintendents of police had been told to clamp prohibitory orders in consultation with the collectors after assessing the situation. Checking of vehicles at night time would be intensified and security beefed up in public places, railway stations and bus stands.
The anti-sabotage squads had been posted to the railway stations. They would check trains in collaboration with the Railway protection force.
Patrolling would be intensified in coastal areas. Strong security would be provided to places of worship.
He said that action would be taken against anyone sending provocative SMS messages or sticking bills with provocative messages in public places.
He urged the general public to inform the police if they get any indications about attempts to spread rumours or create unrest.
