Police sends notice to PFI president

In the case of hacking the hand of the lecturer from Newman College, Thodupuzha, the police has sent notices to the State president of the Popular Front of India, Nasaruddin Elamaram and the State committee member P. Koya, who is also the chief editor of Thejus, to be present before the investigating team.

The notice has asked Mr. Elamaram to appear before the Circle Inspector of Muvattupuzha on August 12 and Prof. Koya has been asked to appear on August 16.

P. Abdul Hameed, the State general secretary of Popular Front and Ashraf Moulavi, president of Imam Council, another organisation of the PFI, failed to appear before the police on Monday, as was directed in a notice sent earlier. Both had requested for a week's extension.
