Produced in court
Staff Reporter adds from Pathanamthitta: Saritha was produced before the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court-II here on Saturday in connection with a cheating case registered at the Konni police station.
The police had registered the case against Saritha on the basis of a complaint filed by Sreedharan Nair from Konni.
Saritha had cheated him of Rs.40 lakh by promising to set up a Rs.80-crore solar project at a cost of Rs.5 crore after obtaining government subsidies at his industrial unit at the Kinfra Park in Palakkad. She had introduced herself as Lekshmi Nair and said her company was supported by the State government. She had taken him to the Chief Minister’s office, apparently to convince him of her words, Mr. Nair said in his complaint.
After recording her statements, the court sent her in police custody till June 26. A police team led by B. Prasannan Nair, Dy.SP, took her to Ernakulam later.
