Police put on alert in Kerala: DGP

February 15, 2010 01:18 pm | Updated 01:18 pm IST - Thiruvananthapuram

A general alert has been sounded across Kerala in the wake of the February 13 Pune terror attack, a top police official said here on Monday.

However, declining to specify the security measures taken, DGP Jacob Punnoose told reporters that police in all States and the central forces would jointly work together to combat terrorism.

Solidarity among police forces in different States and mutual sharing of information would help find the roots of terrorism, he said.

To a question, Mr. Punnoose said they are providing all help to the NIA to probe two terrorism cases the probe agency had taken over from the state police.
