The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the sexual assault on an actor inside a moving vehicle in Ernakulam in February is likely to seek extension of police custody of key accused Sunil Kumar, alias ‘Pulsar’ Suni on Monday, citing the need to probe the conspiracy angle further.

Sunil is reportedly refusing to reveal the conspiracy angle. On Sunday, the police shifted him to an undisclosed location for a detailed interrogation since his five-day police custody is set to end on Monday.

Meanwhile, Imran, a Malappuram native held for stealing a SIM card from Coimbatore, was presented before a judicial magistrate, who remanded him to 14 days in judicial custody. Earlier the police took Imran along with three other accused Vipinlal, Mesthiri Sunil, and Vishnu to a shop at Broadway as part of evidence collection.

The accused had bought from the shop the shoe used for smuggling in mobile phone to the cell of Sunil at the Kakkanad district jail. Vishnu had cut open the shoe sole and sewed it again after hiding the phone in it.
