The Prime Minister's Office has called a meeting with higher officials from Kerala this afternoon to discuss security at Sabarimala during the pilgrimage season.

The meeting is being convened against the background of a broad perception of security threat from terrorists against places of worship including Sabarimala.

Additional Chief Secretary (Home) K. Jayakumar and Director General of Police Jacob Punnoose will be attending the meeting to be presided over by the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister T. K. A. Nair.

The Director General had inspected security arrangements at Sabarimala on Sunday in preparation for the meeting.
