Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will face the same fate as the former Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has said.

He was speaking at an election rally of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate P.S. Sreedharan Pillai at Mannar, near here, on Thursday.

“Mr. Vijayan is walking the same path as Mr. Manik Sarkar. The CPI(M) does not respect the democracy or democratic values. It stamps its authority by threatening voters and murdering opponents. After 25 years of rule, people had voted the CPI(M) out of power in Tripura. The same will be repeated in Kerala. The people of Kerala have a chance to dump the CPI(M) in the Arabian Sea,” Mr. Deb said.

He said that the Left Democratic Front and the United Democratic Front were the same.

“There is no difference between the LDF and UDF. They take turns to rule the State without doing anything to benefit the people. The Congress will soon become history. A victory for the National Democratic Alliance candidate in Chengannur will boost its prospects of coming to power in the State in the next Assembly election,” Mr. Deb said.

Mr. Sreedharan Pillai, BJP State president Kummanam Rajasekharan, BJP State general secretary K. Surendran and others spoke.
