Payyannur College is leading in the Kannur University arts festival, christened ‘Kalotsavam ‘18’, being organised by the university union at Sree Narayana College here.
The college scored 108 points as off-stage items are nearing completion here on Thursday evening.
Government Brennen College and Government College, Kasaragod, are second and third with 77 and 56 points respectively.
Winners in the off-stage items are: Embroidery - Hridya P. (Don Bosco Arts and Science College, Angadikkadavu); essay writing -English - Anisha T.K. (S.N. College, Kannur); poetry writing - English - Liza Marina Zacharia (Chinmaya Arts and Science College for Women, Govindagiri).
Short story writing - English - Neeraja T. (Govt. College, Chokli); poster writing - Hridya Raj P.M. (Govt. Brennen College of Teacher Education, Thalassery); essay writing - Sanskrit - Princy M. (Govt. Brennen College, Thalassery); Aksharashlokam - Ranjitha C.K. (PRNSS College, Mattannur); Rangoli - K. Poornima (Payyannur College).
The formal inauguration of the festival will be held on March 2 marking the beginning of the on-stage items. The event will conclude on March 4.
