Judicial First Class Magistrate II Mohammed Raees, on Tuesday, adjourned to Wednesday further hearing and order on the bail plea by Tenny Joppan, former personal staff member of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.

Joppan was arrested in connection with the solar panel scam on Friday and was sent to the District Jail, Pathanamthitta, on judicial custody for 14 days, on Saturday. The arrest was on the basis of a complaint filed at the Konni police station by Sreedharan Nair of Konni. Assistant public prosecutor (APP) R. Pradeepkumar produced the case diary in the court and prayed that the court may verify the allegations of ‘tampering’ in the same. The APP maintained that certain insertion had been made in the original petition that was filed in the court. Joppan’s lawyer G.M. Idiculla repeated his argument that the name of his client figured nowhere in the complaint.

Rejected

Ambalappuzha Judicial First Class Magistrate D. Udayakumar, on Tuesday. rejected the bail application of Biju Radhakrishnan, the main accused in the solar cheating case. The court had earlier remanded Biju to judicial custody.
